Design Brief
The prompt was to design a measuring device that considers the needs of user(s) to give an improved product experience for the future. For measuring need, you may consider weight, distance, volume, temperature, speed, light, conductivity, pressure, chemical composition, vital signs, or almost anything. Personal medical devices, kitchen tools, scientific equipment, professional production/construction/fabrication tools, sports equipment would be among the example product categories. You will have to consider the following design issues when designing your product:
My product was aimed to tell time over a 24 hour period with a playful and decorative feel. My project statement was how might I design a clock that visually displays the entirety of a day while emitting a calm environment? With the prompt and my own statement, I decided to combine light and time to create a 24 hour clock that may be decorative and functional simultaneously for the user. I used 3d printing to make a final model and then render an example of how it might be injection molded for manufacturing.
