Design Brief
Tasked with creating a slip casted product of choice. Using 3D printing to create masters to be turned into plaster molds to produce multiples over time. Then the multiples would go through the firing, glazing, and presenting stages to undergo review. The goal was to create a ceramic travel mug that had Interchangeable lids and an optional sleeve for warmth upon use. I wanted to create a fun and playful replacement to paper disposable coffee & tea cups with a twist on the idea of the fragile medium of ceramic.
The ultimate objective of this course is to produce a series or edition of ceramic objects that serve as domestic amendments, or that which takes advantage of ceramic materiality, formal concerns, and use potentials to augment one’s domestic environment.
